For A Fan

Before this day ends, I would like to dedicate this post to a very good friend of mine, Kipas.

290708 - HAPPY BIRTHDAY KIPAS!!!

Today was eventful. First we went to an event to see Kipas' husband idol.

The idol walked past us after the event and the conversation goes like this:

Idol: (Smiling) No need to work ah? (Idol's hands gesture and expression very cute)
A: Working lah.
Idol: Working? I'm your boss lah?
A: Today is *****'s birthday. (Very the suddenly)
Idol: (Start clapping hands) Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you, happy birthday to *****, happy birthday to you. Sorry ah, no cake.
B: Nvm, hug enough already.
K: Bu yao bu yao. (She paiseh lah)
Idol: Bu yao ah? Wo hen xiang de leh! (I smell very nice)
(Idol had to go off already)
Idol: Ok bye bye take care (or something like that)
A: Ok bye, have a good day.
Idol: Ya, you too

My god!! Where on earth to find such an idol??? Who would expect an idol to SING??? The idol could have just say it out, a bonus if it's with a handshake, but sing?!? *melted*

Then we head off to 'The Lengkungan' and catch a movie. Red Cliff. I didn't expect much from the movie cuz I knew it was about those China Dynasty history and war, and i suck in it, but the show was pretty awesome! Very the meng-gan-jiong-kan. Me and A added a lot of sound effects for the show wakaka. And I tend to think all these movies are damn fake. Although it's interesting. I mean, why those kelefeh army whack one time terus die while those super warriors get stabbed a few times they still look as good as new? The warrior's armour is so blardy heavy but they run so fast (plus, what for wearing it when you still die being stabbed) . The sword/stick is so heavy too but they can fling it and slash 10 ppl at one go.

The worst part of the show is, THERE IS A PART TWO!!! I was so gan jiong watching, I rushed to the toilet and rushed back before the second war starts, EXPECTING the second war to start, and suddenly 'TO BE CONTINUED' Ma turtle! Suspense betul! But it's nice lah, go watch! Takeshi Kaneshiro is hawt! Tony Leung too!

Still got many many shows to watch! The Dark Knight (must must must!!), The Mummy (must must must!), Journey To The Center Of Earth, Hancock, Kungfu Hip Hop... arghhh...

Random Pic Post

1. I live in UK time zone - it's 6am now.
2. I feel inferior.
3. Craving is a sin.

I guess I am a person who can't stand cravings. Been craving for nasi goreng kampung for a couple of days now, so today went out and search for it. Ah ha! Nasi goreng kampung tambah telur mata. Ooh la la~

Anyway, this post is just a random pic post...

Crossfire: A Long Journey Has Begun

Yes yes, I know I took too long to post this. I rarely blog about introducing artistes but I guess introducing this bunch of guys is a must.

Crossfire is a Chinese local rock band which they were formed back in 2004, and was involved in various mass event in the Chinese music industry such as 988 Live Show 2004 @ Sg Wang together with Nicholas Teo, Danny One, Yu Heng, Regine, Tang Xiao Kang; They also performed at the 988 Global Chinese Music Award; Michael Wong (Guang Liang)'s Showcase. They've been in the music industry for four years now, jamming in pubs, performing for events, but only in this year they released their first album [A Long Journey Has Begun].

How did I know them? To be honest I have no idea about Crossfire until my friend Carmen smsed me asking me to support them because her colleague is one of the member. That was in March this year. Then, I found out Ai Fm's anniversary they were involved too! (Yeah yeah, the main is still Danny la of cuz). I went for the ai fm anni press conference in The Mines on 19th April, and that was the first time I saw them. First impression - QUIET and SHY. They didn't talk much, very awkward feel, and among all I remembered Jim the most because of his long hair, and he sat next to Danny while the others sat in front. I was thinking 'how this fella know Danny one ah?'

So, right until the event day which was 4th May, they performed on stage with full band set up, as background for Tang Xiao Kang, and also rendered their own songs. Maybe that time no one knows who they were so not much cheering for them. Only from the few of us. After watching their performance, these guys are good, their music is good. And when Jim swing his hair like shampoo ad, fuiyo, damn yeng weh. Of course being a girl will sure look who is leng chai la, la la la, not gonna tell who *chuckles*

After the event, we saw that they have to pack their own instruments and all, while the other artistes already left with chartered bus! So kelian! We stayed for awhile to watch them pack then we left to search for the post party. We were standing at the entrance and after awhile, we saw a bunch of guys walking towards us. We were like 'my god! They walk here on foot!' Ok, so one of my friends went up to talk to them and manage to take a pic with them. I kiasu so I took too. (This pic very precious gah, later they famous dy I got no chance how)

Since then I start to take note of these guys. They did a show for Beyond's 25th Anni in Sg Wang but I missed it. But I went for their first promo and also the pwh charity' press conference, then, can't believe they recognize me! So gan dong. Bought their album [A Long Journey Has Begun], and their songs are awesome! Personally love the main song 'Love U Love Me' and 'Path Of Dreams' and 'Shou Zai Ni Shen Bian' but nonetheless all the songs were their own compositions and own arrangement. Bravo.

I wouldn't say that I personally know them, I wouldn't consider myself as their friend, I'm still a Crossfire fan, but I just know them a bit better compared to just a fan. After talking to them for a couple of times, I realize their album title really says it all. A long journey has begun. They started tough, still is, but I hope everything will be better in the future. They did everything themselves. From composing, to recording, to mountain fulls of practices and singings, loading and unloading the equipments everywhere by themselves, packing and unpacking, not like other solo artistes who just sound check, rehearse and come and go, having PAs to do everything for them. Well, I guess that's the disadvantage of a band gua. Really pity them. Plus, being new, and being a band, I doubt the income is good. So peeps! These guys need your support! Oh, they do really good covers of Beyond songs, Thai songs.

I really respect all 5 of them. And also their PA. I see teamwork in them. They are the most mutual consented (很有默契) band I've ever seen. It just amazes me! Really! They know what song to play next which I never even notice anyone passing the message around. They know which key to go into, they know how to back each other up. They're just great. And they're really friendly and funny!

See their tees? It says 'Crossfire'. They have both black and white. And both are different designs, but you don't notice it because it's just slightly different. Even the shirts are designed by themselves!

Their album - [A Long Journey Has Begun] has 11 tracks altogether. It's selling at RM25 each. I am not sure if you can get it at cd shops, but if you want you can contact Amplitude Entertainment, or I can purchase for you and you get it from me :p Buy lah, support good music, support local music!

Let me introduce them one by one:

Elwy (nice name huh? Yes, pronounced as the branded. Sounds expensive *chuckles*) - Guitarist/Lead Vocalist

Jeff aka Fei Zai- bassist/background vocalist

Shin Kairi - Keyboardist/Lead Vocalist

Kit - Drummer

Jim - Guitarist

To view some of their performances in the past few months, search for 'sevelynn' in youtube, or for more, search for 'crossfire乐队’ because there are tonnes of bands called crossfire in the world.

They perform at Fahrenheit Pub, Desa Sri Hartamas every Thurs - Sat 10pm - 1am. If got chance please go and see them sing live. Excellento! :D (Edited: For Aug & Sept 08, they perform at Gold Hill Pub, Kepong every Mon - Sat (10pm - 12.45am [1.15am for Thurs - Sat]).

Well, I guess not only Crossfire, but other bands in Malaysia as well should be given a chance to prove to the world what they've got. And I think there are a lot more in Crossfire that me and you yet to discover. Kudos to Crossfire. May your long journey be filled with lots of laughters and abundance of happiness ;)

Thank You For Loving Me ;)

For the past week I've been kinda emo, well, I don't see it as negatively emo, or the rather contradicting 'positively emo', but I'm just 'gratefully emo'. Those who have seen my 'change-by-the-minute' msn nick might accidentally noticed my emo nick last week - 不想有人对我好 (don't want to be treated nice). Maybe I'm feeling really guilty because I'm always worried about neglecting my friends or family. Be it consciously or unconsciously. Be it knowing or not knowing. I feel bad when people treat me good and I can't repay for their kindness. I feel sad when I know I don't deserve it. Teng even helped me analyzed the pros and cons of it. Haha thanks gnet ;)

At the same time, I'm glad to be part of your friendship circle. I'm grateful to have so many wonderful friends in my life. I'm happy that at each single stage of my life I meet someone new, and great.

Quote soursand - * Time might lead me to nowhere and fate might break me into pieces but I will always be THANKFUL that once in my life's journey, our path crossed! *

To all my friends - THANK YOU FOR LOVING ME *wub*

Thank *you* (you know who you are) for the wonderful pressies. Totally unexpected. Expect the unexpected *chuckles* Very nice of you. I count this as the 'present' already ya?

不要对我好,因为不值得。
Don't treat me good, I don't deserve it.

Danny's Bday Party + 988 Global Live Music Party

Ok I know this posting is super duper belated because this happened one week ago.

Last weekend went Penang with ML, SF, IT, PK for the 988 global live music party. But actually got another task on hand. Very last minute thing, rush here and there to get people and things settled.

Didn't sleep the night before cuz reach home quite 'early', so by the time i pack it was already morning. So terus tahan until 7am and went fetch PK and head to ML's house. ML drove. Went fetch SF and IT then head for breakfast nearby. Then off we head north!!! Slept all the way in the car cuz very tired, but keep waking up cuz it's so freaking sunny and hot! Luckily got my Patrick pillow and bolster nyeh heh heh!

Reach Juru about 12.20pm then clean up a bit and head to Hongkie Kopitiam to prepare everything. Some artistes were doing sound check so on and off the rest run over to watch. Danny had his rehearsal too. Gathered some Penang fans and also KL fans and surprise Danny with a so-called birthday party. He was having a promo session at the cafe so before the promo we celebrate his birthday in advance for him. Well, just a very simple cake cutting and present giving and a chance for Penang fans to celebrate with him :) But somehow I see quite some media there.. hmm.. Actually we memang wanted to do a party for him in KL, but his schedule is so full we can't fit in. Sigh. But even though it's a simple party, really have to thank some people here.

- Thanks H2T for arranging everything with the cafe.
- Thanks I-tung for calling people to go, even though sendiri nearly cannot go.
- Thanks Soo Hui and Soo Yin for buying the cake, boiling the red eggs (wasting few cartons of eggs just to get the perfect one for him), getting the present, rushing here and there to make sure everything is alright... Gan dong dao!! I lub u two very muchie!
- Thanks to all who came! No matter u came from Penang, Juru, KL or wherever! Thanks!!!
- Thanks Auto City for the help.
- Thanks Hongkie Kopitiam (pls consider making Danny your ambassador) Nice fried rice and boxing chicken!

After the party we went back our room to bath and quickly get ready for the night. Gosh, didn't even get a rest already have to stand by. We went and queue under the fan club (live zone woo hoo!) at 5pm. Say 5 something let us in but 6.20pm only we get to go in. Our area not too bad la... Directly in front of the left screen but can see the stage clearly. Met up with CY and LL :) CY sat VIP with ML so LL followed us. So many units of artistes that night! From Taiwan: Kenji Wu, Yoga Lim, Da Mouth; From HK: Jason Chan Pak Yu, Vincy, Khalil Fong; From Singapore: Kelly Pan; From Malaysia: Danny One, Cheng Lee Zhi Qing, Karen Kong, Henley Hii, John Wee, Desiree Tan, Manhand, Guang Liang, Fish Leong.

The theme for the night was 'k songs' so they sang a lot of k songs and the lyrics were on the screen for audiences to sing along. Our side had a lot of fun, shouting and screaming, especially during Fang Da Tong's session, we keep shouting 'Ah Tong!! We go eat Tai Thong loh!' haha, I know it's lame but it's so funny! Danny was the 3rd to perform after Yoga. Woo! So handsome! Wear coat! First impression - real estate manager. Lol! And I was very proud of his performance that night. I think it's almost 'ALL OUT'. Almost only la, not yet 100% kekeke. He sang Yi Qi Dao Gao, everyone so high! Then he duet 'On Every Line' with Jason, when introducing Daniel's part they shouted 'Wo men you qing, Daniel Lee!', I actually looked to the backstage expecting Daniel to appear *chuckles* But nah, just his voice only. Chiu.

More pics of other artistes click here - Itung's blog

Wanna see the clips can go to youtube and search for videos under 'sevelynn' :D

Everyone was so tired and hot and sticky cuz halfway throughout the show it rained! I can't even take out Henley's board requested by WWT. Sorry gnet! :( After the show instantly go back to the room to rest and then eat supper downstairs. So tempted to go G Hotel but haha, all too tired. After supper, went back to room, bath, chit chat until 3 something only sleep. K.O.

The next day checked out at 12pm and went search for phood. So kesian nothing to eat around Juru. So twist and turn and just have something simple at Bukit Tengah. Dunno where is that.

Us: (After our drinks order came) Boss, kira.
A: Bla bla bla RM7.90.
Us: (Stunned for few seconds) Semua woh...
A: Yalah, RM7.90.
Us: (Pay and laugh)

Hahaha, drinks for 7 person... Samore is all milo ice and 100 plus and stuff. Too cheap to be true! Even the duck drumstick rice only cost RM4.50! In KL it would be like at least RM6! But the phood so so only la :p

Then some of us head to Queensbay for Danny's Pg promo while some head to Butterworth. I still remember last year I was at Queensbay for the same fella's promo and the same emcee too. Hahaha! Memories. This time more people and more relaxed. So touched heehee! We keep calling him mr manager. He samore can answer 'faster go get more business for me' Zha dou~

After that we head to Butterworth to meet up with the rest. And we went to Bukit Tambun for seafood! Yay hoo! My fave part (phood wise) of the trip! Somehow I just love to go there, hmm, dunno why.

For more info, click here:

Oklar, very tired already. Good night!

Revisiting Tien Hou Temple

Ho ho ho... this post is like one month late.

I remember when I was young, I always loved to come to this place. When grandpa was still able to drive far, he would always bring me and my cousins here. Every time during Chinese New Year or Mooncake Festival, this is the place to be.

I still remember participating in a family day thing with my elder cousin and grandma. We had treasure hunt, memory game at the hill at the back of the temple, sketch, food etc. I still can remember there's this abandoned brick hut on the hill and they put a lot of things in there and we have to memorize as many things as we can. I still remember there was a pack of maggi mee.

Since then I had never come to Tien Hou temple anymore. It's been years. So the other day after a birthday party me, SS, ML and Teng went there cuz some people have not been there before. Now it has been beautified, still looks very clean and elegant. I guess people will always associated serenity and peace with this temple. Somehow I feel very calm and nice when I come to this place. Can't believe temple can be a pak toh place for people. Dottt.

There is a tortoise pond and herbs garden at the back of the temple. Very nice place. I see lots and lots of tortoise. Greeneries all around.

I really love this bunch of bamboos but don't know how to take a nice pic of it :(

My fondest memory of Tien Hou Temple is always this "Wishing Pond cum Guan Yin Saint Water" When I was small, I will always come to this Guan Yin and drink the 'saint water'. They used to have cups provided, then you just kneel on the stone plat in front of the pond, make a wish and drink the water.

Now they have a new one, bigger one outside the temple. Don't ask me if the water is clean or not, I don't want to know lol.

For those who wants to get a partner soon, can come and touch this ah gong. The red bag on the left is called the 'red thread bag'. Red thread is used to matchmake a couple together.

Really glad for this trip. Even though I'm not a Buddhist, but I enjoyed coming here a lot. More trips to come :)

Coming up next:
- 988 global live music party + danny's north promo
- Crossfire!
